Integration and ingestion represent distinct processes within the Experience Management Platform (XMP), each serving a unique purpose and involving different types of software.
Integration is the mechanism by which the XMP is connected to another system or software, enabling the exchange of data and facilitating the seamless use of both systems in tandem. This process allows data to flow between systems, promoting interaction and mutual understanding of the data shared.
Conversely, ingestion is the process of acquiring data from various sources and converting it into a format that is usable within the XMP. In the context of the XMP, the goal is to connect with different sources or software, taking in their data, and transforming it into campaign (survey) transactions. Ingestion typically precedes integration as the data needs to be in a compatible format for effective utilization by the integrated systems.
