Anonymous surveys provide a secure and confidential platform for individuals to share feedback or information without revealing their identity. This anonymity encourages respondents to provide honest responses, leading to more accurate data collection.

How Anonymous Surveys Work in XMP

In the Experience Management Platform, anonymous surveys ensure that personally identifiable information (PII), such as names, email addresses, or transaction IDs, ingested from the transaction data are masked. This ensures the privacy and confidentiality of respondents.

How the XMP Handles PII in Anonymous Surveys

  • The incomplete surveys tab for anonymous surveys is hidden for managers, tier managers, and agents.

  • Surveys cannot be sent manually from an anonymous campaign. Only transaction data ingested from a configured from an integrated source can be sent from an anonymous Campaign.

  • View Response (review details) does not display any PII, only the survey completion date in the campaign’s Reviews section.

  • Reviewer details are hidden in the incomplete survey report.

  • When publishing reviews on the public page or reviews management page, no information about the reviewer/customer is displayed.

Benefits of Anonymous Surveys

  • Honest Feedback: Anonymity encourages respondents to provide honest feedback without fear of repercussions.

  • Reduced Bias: Anonymity reduces survey response bias, ensuring that responses are based solely on the respondent's opinions.

  • High Response Rate: With the assurance of privacy, respondents are more likely to participate, leading to a higher response rate.

  • Privacy: Anonymous surveys provide privacy to respondents, allowing them to share sensitive information comfortably.

When to Use Anonymous Surveys

  • Employee Evaluation: Use anonymous surveys for employee evaluations to ensure honest feedback from employees without fear of reprisal.

  • Employee Turnover: Use anonymous surveys to understand the reasons behind employee turnover, as respondents may feel more comfortable sharing their experiences anonymously.

  • Medical Surveys: Anonymous surveys are suitable for medical surveys where patients may need to share personal information.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Use anonymous surveys for customer satisfaction feedback to encourage customers to provide honest opinions without feeling obligated to be polite.

Creating an Anonymous Survey

Anonymous surveys are valuable tools for gathering honest and unbiased feedback from respondents. By ensuring confidentiality and privacy, these surveys provide an effective means of understanding the perspectives and experiences of participants.

To make a survey anonymous, the proper setting should be enabled in the Campaign’s General Settings before activation.

As soon as the toggle for the anonymous surveys has been turned ON, the toggle for manual surveys will turn OFF. A message will appear on your screen to update the email disclaimers in any enabled emails for the campaign.

Once an anonymous campaign is activated, it cannot be changed back to a non-anonymous campaign.
