In a Rating Scale question, respondents are asked to select a number or symbol on a scale to rank attributes or display feelings/emotions about a given interaction. The Rating Scale question includes an option to choose a 1-5 or a 1-10 scale.
What Respondents See
The 1-5 rating scale allows the respondent to select the number of stars or smileys to express their response.
The 1-10 rating scale utilizes emoji expressions and colors to indicate the direction of the scale.
Creating a Rating Scale Question
To add a Rating Scale question to a survey:
On the campaign’s primary questions page, expand the + Add New Question menu, then select Rating Scale.
Type the question and format it as necessary using the formatting tools.
In the variable portion of the question, select the type of rating scale the question should be presented as:
The 1-5 rating scale utilizes stars or smileys as the rating scale symbols
The 1-10 rating scale utilizes numbers as the rating scale selections
Assign response choices to the left and right labels according to the question. These will appear below the rating scale, as pictured above.
At the bottom of the question editor, mark the question as required (toggle on) or optional (toggle off) for the respondents.
Analyzing the Response Data
Rating Scale response data can be found attached to the question within a campaign’s Question Summary. 1-5 rating scales display a tiny graphic with the average rating and a table breakdown of the responses.
1-10 rating scales display a bar graph with the average rating and the table breakdown of the responses.
