In a Rating Scale question, respondents are asked to select a number or symbol on a scale to rank attributes or display feelings/emotions about a given interaction. The Rating Scale question includes an option to choose a 1-5 or a 1-10 scale.

What Respondents See

The 1-5 rating scale allows the respondent to select the number of stars or smileys to express their response.

The 1-10 rating scale utilizes emoji expressions and colors to indicate the direction of the scale.

Creating a Rating Scale Question

To add a Rating Scale question to a survey:

  1. On the campaign’s primary questions page, expand the + Add New Question menu, then select Rating Scale.

  1. Type the question and format it as necessary using the formatting tools.

  1. In the variable portion of the question, select the type of rating scale the question should be presented as:

The 1-5 rating scale utilizes stars or smileys as the rating scale symbols
