Jira Integration
Overview
Jira is a software application developed by the Australian software company Atlassian that allows teams to track issues, manage projects, and automate workflows. This issue-tracking tool is mainly used to track, organize, and prioritize issues, bugs, features, and tasks related to software and mobile apps.
Experience.com’s Jira integration solution allows enterprise customers to automatically send surveys to desired recipients (reporters/assignees) during and after key moments in any part of a project or product lifecycle taking place in the software. The Jira integration allows you to:
Ingest issue and project data from Jira into Experience.com.
Map ingested data to campaigns within the account
Automate campaigns and send surveys to assignees or reporters based on issue type, role, and status.
Transactions ingested from the Jira platform into the XMP are labeled as verified transactions.
Configuring the Jira Integration
Configuring the Jira integration is an easy and seamless workflow that requires the help of an organization or account manager with access to the Jira project that should be connected to the XMP for data ingestion. The steps below outline the quick process:
Create a new Jira Connection in the Account’s Ingestion setup.
To create a new configuration, navigate to the Account Settings page and open the Ingestion Settings. Click Jira, and then click the blue New Connection button.
When redirected, log in to the Jira account with access to the project to be connected.
If this is your first time connecting to Jira from Experience.com, the platform will ask to authorize several permissions. Click the blue Accept button.
With a validated connection, you will be redirected back to the XMP where the integration panel expands, providing a total display of all pertinent details in the Jira integration. Selections need to be made in several fields to customize the ingestion configuration and tailor it to a specific project in Jira.
Using the dropdown menu at the top of the ingestion configuration, select the Jira project that issues should be ingested from into the XMP.
Enter a point of contact, someone who can be contacted in the event an error occurs or reconnection is needed for the integration. Be sure to click the sign to add the email.
The XMP will ingest data based on ticket status, for example, Done, Ready for Deployment, Product Approved, etc.. Type and add the status(es) of the tickets that should be ingested.
Upon saving and activating the integration, your selected project data is seamlessly ingested from Jira to the XMP. This automated process can streamline and enhance product management and engineering lifecycles, helping to fine-tune future sprints and collaborative projects.
